“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson

Making change is never easy, but if you are willing to try then I can be there to help you along the way.  I believe my role as a therapist is to collaborate, support, and provide feedback to help you make positive changes to reach your goals.  My approach is client centered, empathetic and direct; often laced with a fair amount of humor.  I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, focusing on what best suits your needs.  I can play on the floor with children, mediate conflict between family members, provide motivation and psychoeducation for change, or simply sit and listen as you share your story.

I consider myself a generalist who is willing to work with a variety of clients.  I enjoy working with children, teenagers, families, and couples.  I have experience working with mood disorders; addictions of all types; co-occurring disorders; anxiety disorders; personality disorders; and LGBTQ issues.  I can also provide substance abuse evaluations.

I received my Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Kansas and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Doane College.  I am a fully Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), Certified Professional Counselor (CPC), and Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC).  I have worked in human services and counseling with children, youth and their families for over 15 years.  Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in several programs at Cedars Youth Services and was a caseworker for Region 5 Systems and Visinet.
